AdTech

The term advertise is from early 15c., "to take notice of" (a sense now obsolete), from Old French advertiss-, present participle stem of advertir (earlier avertir) "make aware, call attention, remark; turn, turn to" (12c.), from Latin advertere "to direct one's attention to; give heed," literally "to turn toward," from ad "to, toward" (see ad-) + vertere "to turn."

Adtech is short for advertising technology and broadly refers to different types of analytics and digital tools used in the context of advertising. There are a multitude of adtech stacks for companies to use to engage with customers. These adtech stacks use combinations of SEM (Search Engine Marketing), display ads, re-targeting, and ad tracking. The goal of adtech is to optimize marketing budgets by utilizing tools to drive customers and drive sales. There are differing opinions as to whether adtech is effective. Blockchain for adtech?
